1. Choosing a character suitable for you; if you are so fat, don’t cosplay thin girl. Such as Asuna of SAO. That will be ugly.
2. To get full set costumes of character you want to cosplay. Do get just a wig, or a costume. Get full set, you will more look like it. Such as vocaloid cosplay costumes. (from xcoser.com)
3. Put on makeup; this can make you more like anime character.
